Packing tips for your move
Well packed = better moved!
Packing is very time-consuming, so plan plenty of time for it.
- Pack things that are no longer needed 2 – 3 weeks before the move; remember to also pack the basement, attic and garden sheds
- To avoid chaos, pack one room at a time if possible
- Pack things that belong together – e.g. from a drawer or cupboard – together in a box ; this saves time when unpacking and sorting later
- When packing, always pay attention to the weight of the moving boxes ; it is better to carry a few more boxes than to struggle with heavy boxes
- When packing, do not forget to leave the handle holes free
- Pointed and sharp-edged objects should be wrapped in wrapping paper or bubble wrap to reduce the risk of injury
- Label each moving box (ideally with self-adhesive labels) with the room and contents; this way our employees know immediately which room the box belongs to
- To prevent the contents of the box from sliding back and forth (risk of breakage!), fill the gaps with wrapping paper , towels or bed linen; check the packed box by shaking it a little

Living room
Use the slightly smaller book boxes for books, records, CDs , etc. because books in particular can quickly add up to a considerable amount of weight.
It is better to only pack half a box full and fill the rest with towels or sofa cushions. It is best
to pack books upright and back to back in the boxes to avoid them slipping into each other and causing damage.
Small items from the display case should be collected together if possible and wrapped in packing paper or bubble wrap .
Mirrors, fragile pictures and frames are best packed in bubble wrap or use special picture boxes or picture corners for transport.
Pack electronic items such as computers, monitors, televisions and music systems particularly well, for example in bubble wrap or packing blankets , to protect them from impacts during transport.
Bath
When packing, check that perfumes, shampoos and shower gels are leak-proof ; if necessary, seal the lids with adhesive tape to prevent leakage.
If possible, use plastic boxes or buckets with lids for these things; these will protect your other belongings better than moving boxes if the liquids do leak out.
Kitchen
Plan most of your time for this, as packing dishes is very time-consuming.
Have packing paper , bubble wrap, and adhesive tape ready. Special plate and glass paper is also suitable for dishes . Pack your dishes carefully with the packing paper or bubble wrap.
Place plates upright in the moving box and fill any empty spaces in the boxes with paper. Towels or bed linen are suitable as intermediate layers . You can then pack cups, for example, in a second stack in the box; but always pay attention to the weight.
Always pack glasses, vases, and other delicate items upright in the box and do not place heavy items on top of them. Wrap cutlery and other sharp-edged utensils well in packing paper or bubble wrap.
Pots and pans should be packed separately with a little paper. Seal open food packaging with adhesive tape.
Do not pack food and cleaning products together with other items being moved; these could leak during transport and soil or damage the other items.
Small plants can be put in a cardboard box or plastic crate; Here too, the gaps should be filled sufficiently. Large plants should be carried individually; a plant carrying strap can be used as an aid. In cold seasons, make sure to also wrap the plants in bubble wrap to protect them from freezing.
We look forward to your project
